The Grace was born out of a desire to provide my beloved Harrisonburg with a unique & important workout experience. The disciplines of Pilates, Barre and TRX are incredibly effective on their own but when used together, perfectly complement each other to maximize health & fitness for Every Body.
Pilates has helped so many people ease chronic pain when nothing else worked. It is also the perfect way to prevent future injury no matter your activity of choice.
Barre is one of the best workouts around! It tones muscles in a way that no other workout can. And it’s a blast!
TRX was originally developed by a Navy SEAL – and is used as a military training program – so you know that’s some serious muscle burn!
The studio itself is a beautiful, peaceful space that is perfect for those who might not be into the hardcore gym scene, but equally as important for those who want to supplement their gym routine with an effective & unique workout.

The Grace classes have been my salvation. Your instructors are amazing. I primarily do classes with Caitlin and Holly and they are incredible. I have made more progress with my fake knee flexing in the past three weeks than I have in the 10 years since I’ve had it. Can almost sit back on my heels again. It’s truly wonderful. Please please let them know how deeply I appreciate their classes and the learning they have imparted.
I would like to offer a huge thanks to The Grace for keeping me on a regular at-home online schedule of Barre & stretch classes, and personal thanks to Jessica, Caitlin, and especially Justine, for their expertise, innovation and support during these long months at home.
I am one of those pretty active women over-60 who talks a good game, but pre-Covid-19, if it was raining or cold, I’d skip yoga class (only 2 miles away). But with The Grace’s decision to offer a huge calendar of options to keep us healthy, there’s just no excuse at all, not to join in and do good for yourself, both physically and mentally! And do not hesitate to mention if you need an accommodation here or there; my request was handled professionally and discreetly.
And in the ways that the world feels like more of a community during our quarantine, may I add that I have never (yet) been to the The Grace studio in Harrisonburg, VA.
Can’t wait for the day when I drive over in person and have a Barre or stretch class in a studio with all the great women I’ve not yet met!
